LP Reporting

A quarterly LP report drafted from live data, not a week of re-keying.

LP Report Engine pulls straight from your portfolio and capital-account records, so the report due the week after quarter-close is a review pass instead of a rebuild.

Before

A week of re-keying, every quarter.

  • Data that is only current at close. Portfolio figures and capital accounts get brought up to date the week the quarter ends.
  • Six spreadsheets, one report. The report is assembled by copying numbers from each into a document.
  • A rebuild, not a review. The report due the week after quarter-close is built from scratch each time.

In DeelSignal LP Report Engine pulls straight from your portfolio and capital-account records, so that week is a review pass.

How it works

Every figure in the draft points back to a record.

Three steps, drawn on Demo Capital’s Q3 report. Pick a step to see where it happens.

Steps advance on their own; pick one to hold it.

The quarter

The week after close stops being the hardest week.

Thirteen weeks of Q3. Before, the data is stale until close and the week after goes to re-keying. Here, the data is current all quarter and that week is a review pass.

Beneath the draft

Read by a model, confirmed by a person.

Reading a document and computing a ratio are separate jobs, and a person sits between the first one and the record.

Documents

A file is read, then proposed.

Text is converted as the file arrives. A page that comes back near-empty is treated as a scan and goes to a fallback parser. Each file is classified with a confidence, and the result is a confirm card — “looks like a Term sheet — confirm?” — marked “Needs a look” when the classifier is unsure.

Figures

Nothing lands verified.

Where a model reads figures out of a term sheet, SAFE or board deck, it reports only what the document states. An unstated field stays empty, and nothing is rounded or derived. The rows land unverified, and a round model can’t be shared with a founder until someone has read them against the document. A founder’s MIS counts as reported only once it is submitted; a draft never reaches the report.

Metrics

TVPI, DPI and IRR from the records.

DPI is distributions over paid-in capital, RVPI is residual value over paid-in, and TVPI is the two added from their rounded values, so it always equals the numbers beside it. Paid-in includes fees and expenses; MOIC is computed separately on invested capital and never derived from TVPI. IRR runs over dated cash flows with unrealised value as the final inflow, and an investment with no recorded transactions is left out and the report says so.

Proposed, then approved. Only a member who holds the confirm permission can accept a document’s type, and the approver can change it first.
